Origins & Craftsmanship
Originally released to celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary, the 8 Year Old has since earned a permanent place in Lagavulin’s lineup. Crafted on the rugged shores of Islay, it’s aged for eight years in refill American oak casks and bottled at 48% ABV. The result is a whisky that highlights the pure distillate character—clean smoke, coastal air, and subtle oak—without the heavy sweetness or rounded depth of older expressions.

Tasting Profile

• Nose: Bright, briny smoke rises first, joined by lemon zest, fresh oak, sea spray, and a hint of vanilla. Beneath it all lies a subtle malty sweetness and earthy peat core.

• Palate: Intense yet balanced. Waves of smoky peat, charred oak, and black pepper give way to citrus, barley malt, and light cocoa. The texture is crisp and lively, with excellent energy.
