Glenturret Triple Wood 2024 Release Single Malt Whisky
This 2024-release of The Glenturretâs âTriple Woodâ expression offers a beautifully approachable yet layered single malt. With a balanced maturation across three wood types, it delivers sweet fruit, gentle spice and refined oak characterâmaking it both a friendly introduction to the distilleryâs style and a satisfying daily sipper.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Produced at The Glenturret Distillery in Highland Scotland, this 2024-edition âTriple Woodâ is distilled from their signature un-peated new-make and matured in a blend of American oak (ex-bourbon), European oak sherry-seasoned casks and European oak (secondary). The three distinct wood influences are chosen to showcase the evolving maturing stocks of the distillery and to highlight the spiritâs inherent fruity character. The whisky is bottled at 44% ABV, in natural colour, and non-chill filteredâto preserve its full texture and clarity of flavour.
Tasting Profile
-
Nose: A welcoming scent of vanilla toffee and soft malt sweetness opens the glass. Bright citrus notesâlemon peel, pear dropâlayer in, followed by warming spice from the sherry-oil casks: gentle ginger and cinnamon.
-
Palate: Smooth and medium in body. The change in barrels shows up as honeyed fruit (pear, peach), creamy vanilla silkiness and a subtle oak tannin undercurrent. The European sherry influence adds depthâteak-wood spice and warm nutmeg, while the bourbon barrels bring lighter caramel and fresh fruit brightness.
-
Finish: Clean, mellow and pleasantly persistent. Honeyed fruits and soft cinnamon fade into vanilla cream, gentle wood spice and a trace of oak drynessâinviting another sip rather than pushing for extreme intensity.
